Being a descendent of a survivor of the Armenian Genocide of 1915 perpetrated by the Young-Turk Government of the Ottoman Empire (*1), I can feel how sad, unfair and traumatizing must be for the Palestinian people to be unjustly dispossessed from his land. Actually we see what is happening in Gaza -imprisoned in a blockade and pounded by a modern and sophisticated army. This is worse than a Palestinian Stalingrad and it is not also a question of disproportionate repressions to the rockets sent by Hamas on to Israel.

Here we can notice how a colonizing state hounds the remaining unsubdued indigenous -who above all resist for the symbolic souvenir of their assaulted dignity. We attend a similar scenario to what happenned to the Indian Red Skins during the conquest of the West in America. How many times in old cowboy films, have'nt we heard the saying that "a good Indian is a dead Indian" ? (*2) For how many decades longer, will the Palestinian people be internationally slandered, discredited, neglected or evaded in order to influence public opinions ? and with what methods does the occupying state tries to make the native victims guilty ? (*3)

 

Also, this military approach reminds the usual brutal repression by Turkey against Kurds, Alevis or Kizilbashes when they dare to have a cultural indegenous identity.(*4) As regarding the genocides of the Assyrians and of the Armenians which happened in 1915 (*5), there is a  blockade of their recognition internationally organized by denialist Turkish State. On the back of classical Realpolitik strategic interests we know (*6), we can understand why Israel ideologically -or unconsciously- has not yet recognized the Armenian and Assyrian Genocides. More, can we think that the tragic Gaza crisis is symbolically linked to unsaid consequences of 1915 Genocides and their official denial ?

Indeed, we have to recall that the prestigious religious institution of Califate was suppressed by the kemalist regime of Turkey in 1924. ...so that that a new Caliph could not religiously condemn the crime of 1915 against the Armenian and Assyrian peoples -who according to Islamic Law were "dhimmi", that is to say protected.(*7) What happenned in 1915, was not because of religious fanaticism but it was because of a different and deeper phenomenon (*8) : the loss of islamic faith to the detriment of a racist turkish ideology called Pantouranism.(*9) 

More than one million and half Assyrians and Armenians were slaughtered in Turkey or killed by deportation into the arabic desert.(*10) They died dehumanized without being burried.(*11) Their wandering souls -or their ghosts- are part of the Collective Memory in the Middle East.(*12) They contributed to the non-said decision of the turkish kemalist regime to have a politic of secularism after the suppression of the Caliphate in 1924. This led to an emblematic emptiness in the Oumma muslim community.(*13) Because of the non-existence of the missing caliphate which was not conform to muslim sunni dogma, uncontrolled centrifugal islamist forces took advantage of this destructured symbolic situation.(*14) 

In these conditions, impunity of the Armenian and Assyrian Genocides of 1915 and their actual State Denial by Ankara are poisoned  legacies which stimulate islamist terrorism and israeli war crimes. Those historical and diplomatic inducements are -consciously or unconsciously- the roots for each both criminal drifts raging actually in the Middle East. Symbolically, historically and politically, it is all one, The present local solution of the Gaza crisis is certainly not military.(*15) For the sake of the one million and half Gaza Palestinians, the solution is political, economical and sociological. Unfortunately, real causes and conditions of the Gaza crisis had not been taken in a appropriate consideration by the USA which is an unconditional ally of Israel.

History showed to the Assyrians and to the Armenians, how unfortunately, Great Powers behave in diplomacy regarding victims.(*16) For the one million and half Gaza Palestinians, fortunately there has been a ceasefire. But there is a necessity of an imperative real lasting ceasefire. Otherwise, if such military agressions repeat, there is going to be a humanitarian disaster which could lead if not stopped to an effective Genocide.
